Selective Approach of Indian Media

When two of our army personnel were beheaded, and their head less bodies were handed over to the INDIAN army no one in the press cared to analyse and report.  The then defence minister shamelessly declared that the killings were the work of the militants in Pakistan and shielded the real killers the Pakistan army.  The chief minister of U P.,  was holidaying there in his own home state and did not even cared to visit the bereaved family of Lance Nayak.

Only recently, the leaders of all political parties kept their mouths shut when the air base at Pathankot experienced severe attack.  Delhi chief minister has said brazenly that he was not concerned about what had happened at Pathankot, but was concentrating only in Delhi. The same person who is insensitive to what is  happening in the adjoining state is flying to Hyderabad, to take political advantage.

What way Pathankot and Hyderabad differ with each other?  If all of them visit Pathankot, they may have to lose few percentage in their votes.  If they visit Hyderabad, they can strengthen their vote share, that is from two different sections.  Moreover the deceased Rohit, has gone openly in support of a militant who was sentenced.

The sudden hue and cry on the Hyderabad issue then.  There is also a hidden agenda behind this.  Reports from certain sections also say that the youth Rohit  Vemula has made a false declaration as an SC and gained entry into the institution.

They have the onerous task of disproving that opinion also, but are not turning to that, and think that it is none of their concern.  Are the politicians and the media working for their foreign masters, really concerned about the affected section?

The answer is a big NO.

When the Divyasri-Elavarasan episode was there in the news in Tamilnadu, all the political parties, the so-called champions is social justice, the Dravidian parties observed strict silence for over three months, say from the month of September to December in  2013, until the body of the youth was found near the railway track. None of the parties who speak volumes on eradication of the caste system thought it necessary to visit Dharmapuri and surrounding villages from where reports of arson and looting were coming.

Mr. Arnab was discussing the matter without touching the crux of the issue.  Recently another incident of death of another youth Gokulraj was reported.  No demand for a judicial Enquiry or  CBI probe.  Similar was the case in the suicide case of one Vishnupriya, a lower level police officer.  No discussion, no fuss by  even the local media, let alone the English media at the all India level.   All the above were happy with the official Enquiry, in other words called CBCID enquiry.

In the three cases listed above, the media and the opportunist politicians do not want the truth to come out.  So that, they have not paid their attention, in order not to embarrass any section. If they shout more on these issues, truth will come out.

Where as if they shout more in Hyderabad, matters like false declaration and the links between the ASA and other organisation will be hidden or buried.  That is the reason for their selective approach in such matters.

The centre should have acted swiftly and presented the facts available with it at the very first instance without giving room for the politicians and media goons who are working tirelessly to spoil the social fabric.
